A three day Maharana Kumbha Sangeet Samaroh will be held at Town Hall, Udaipur from December 18 to 20th. This annual concerts on music and dance will be organized by Maharana Kumbha Sangeet Parishad which was setup in 1962 by great musician late Pandit Omkarnath Thakur. This is the 48th Sangeet Samaroh by Maharana Kumbha Sangeet Parishad.
The first day will bring the Sarod recital of Shri Ken Zuckerman from Switzerland. One of the senior disciples of great Sarod maestro, late Ustad Ali Akbar Khan.
The second half of the night on 18th will feature a Violin recital by Shri Ramoo Prasad Shastri, a veteran violin player and former professor of Music, Banaras Hindu University. Shri Lalit Kumar will accompany Shri Ken Zuckerman and Shri Ramoo Prasad on tabla.
On 19th december, recital by renowned vocalish Parween Sultana. Parween Ji would be accompained by senior artists of All India Radio Shri Mukund Rajdeo on tabla and Shri Srinivas Acharya on harmonium.
Pandit Birju Maharaj will perform on the third and concluding day as an exclusive "Kathak" event. He will present very rare and immortal compositions "Kathak Yatra" in Maharana Kumbha Sangeet Samaroh. He will accompanied by a team of his senior disciples Saswati Sen, Deepak Maharaj, Mamta Maharaj, Mahua Shankar, Pallabi De and other accompanying musicians.
